Every Bachelor and Master programme at the Faculty of Spatial Sciences (FSS) has its own Programme Committee (PC) in which two or three students take place together with the staff of the faculty. These students are selected by the Programme Committee to be their year’s respective, where you will be performing different tasks.
The PCs are a vital way in which the quality of education at the FSS is improved through discussions of various topics that are relevant to the study programmes. For example, the period staff is required to return the marks of exams, the quality of the lecturers and the timetable. These discussions take place with the committee once per block through working with the faculty staff assigned to the individual PCs.
After each block, the PC meetings take place to evaluate the courses and provide feedback to the faculty. The PC is also responsible for reviewing and providing feedback on the Teaching and Examination Regulations (Dutch: Onderwijs- en Examenregelingen, OER). Every student studying at the FSS has the opportunity to apply to be part of the Programme Committee of their year, and these applications are typically done in September and October.
